The History of Quality Custom Rail & Metal, LLC

Quality Custom Rail & Metal, LLC (QCRM) was formed in late 2005 as a joint venture between Perada Custom Rail & Metal, Inc. (owned and operated by J. Stanton Pechal) and Quality First Welding, Inc. (owned and operated by Steven L. Nelson) for the purpose of providing fabrication and installation of ornamental railing systems and mid-range structural steel.

Together, Mr. Pechal and Mr. Nelson have over 50 years of experience in the construction industry ranging from "hands-on" welding to operational management in domestic as well as international arenas.  Both of their predecessor companies successfully operated independently for many years prior to their combination, however the merging of the separate entities created significant benefits through economy of scale savings along with providing a "one-stop shop" for ornamental and structural projects. 

The momentum created by the newly formed entity fostered substantial growth during 2006 and 2007, but also strained the working capital of QCRM.  It became obvious in 2007 that additional resources would be required to maintain the growth curve that had been established. 

In February 2008, Ron and Brandon Koonsman joined QCRM providing financial stability and management expertise for continued expansion.  Ron and Brandon Koonsman have supplied financial resources and executive management services to numerous companies over a 25 year period.  They have successfully assisted companies achieve maximum growth potential through prudent investment and management structure implementation. 

With the production skills of Mr. Pechal and Mr. Nelson and the financial and management expertise of the Koonsmans, Quality Custom Rail & Metal, LLC is strategically positioned to serve the Ornamental and Structural Steel segments of the construction industry. 

Our Executive Staff

Brandon Koonsman

Brandon Koonsman began his career in the family communications business progressing from warehouse helper to retail marketing and wholesale purchasing while pursuing his formal education. Upon receiving a degree in finance, he left the communications business to work in the banking industry. When management consulting and private equity entities were added to the group of family-owned businesses, Brandon rejoined his father and has since developed a successful track record of providing financial and executive management assistance to a variety of companies. He joined Quality Custom Rail & Metal in 2008.

Stanton Pechal

Stan Pechal has 27 years experience in the fabrication and installation of ornamental metal. For 17 years, Mr. Pechal honed his skills and built his reputation as an employee of a multi-national construction company supervising jobs throughout the world. Building on this experience, he created Perada Custom Rail & Metal and served as its President for 5 years before merging with Quality First Welding to form the present company, Quality Custom Rail & Metal, LLC. Mr. Pechal's breadth of experience ranging from welding to executive duties make him uniquely qualified to oversee the ornamental division of QCRM.

Steven Nelson

Steven Nelson formed Quality First Welding, Inc. in 1994 and served as it's president and CEO until the company's merger with Perada Custom Rail & Metal, Inc. in 2005. Quality First was founded on the principle of "integrity in providing Quality and Precision to all customers without exception." This principle has driven Steven throughout his 20+ years of experience in the fabrication and installation of structural steel projects. As Vice-President of Production of Quality Custom Rail & Metal, Steven has instilled this philosophy in all employees to insure that all projects are completed on-time to customers' specifications and satisfaction.
